Join The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center for the opening night of the Hamptons Black Film, Art & Culture Series on Sunday, September 13, 2026, presented by The Center in partnership with The Southampton Playhouse.

The evening will feature a special screening of We Want the Funk! with a special introduction by acclaimed documentary filmmaker and director Stanley Nelson. Guests are invited to celebrate Black joy, music, culture, and community through film, conversation, and connection.

The celebration continues after the film with a reception and discussion. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best 1970s style, funk, and flair.

All proceeds benefit The Center. In the spirit of celebration and giving back, Bonnie Michelle Cannon kindly asks that, in lieu of birthday gifts, guests consider making a donation to The Center.
