About Reading Revival
The Reading Revival: It’s a Movement, is a year-long initiative focused on building literacy through everyday moments at The Center. Across our after-school classrooms, youth leadership initiatives like D.R.E.A.M. Teens, and literacy-focused community events, reading becomes a tool for confidence, curiosity, critical thinking, and connection.
This effort brings students, families, staff, and the community together to share stories, strengthen skills, and celebrate learning in meaningful ways.

This month, The Center’s Reading Revival invites readers of all ages to discover stories that inspire courage, resilience, and the pursuit of extraordinary dreams. Young readers can reach for the stars with Mae Among the Stars by Roda Ahmed, middle-grade readers can explore family and history through One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia, teens can embark on the unforgettable adventure of Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, and adults can be inspired by Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly, the remarkable true story of the African American women whose brilliance helped launch our nation into space.
Every book has the power to spark imagination, build confidence, and open the door to new possibilities.
