For more than 75 years, The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center has been dedicated to encouraging, educating, and empowering children, youth, adults, seniors, and families throughout the East End of Long Island.

Lead Teacher – School-Age Child Care Program

Part-Time SACC Program Wage Based on Experience

The Lead Teacher provides leadership for The Center’s New York State OCFS School-Age Child Care Program by creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where children thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and physically while ensuring compliance with OCFS regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

Plan and lead educational, recreational, STEM, arts, and enrichment activities.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children.
Provide homework assistance and academic support.
Supervise Assistant Teachers.
Maintain OCFS documentation and compliance.
Build positive relationships with families.
Support field trips and special events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Meet NYS OCFS Group Teacher qualifications.
Degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Experience working with school-age youth.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it.
Background check and OCFS clearances are required.

Assistant Teacher – School-Age Child Care Program

Part-Time SACC Program Wage Based on Experience

The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where school-age children can learn, grow, and succeed.

Essential Responsibilities

Support daily educational and enrichment activities.
Supervise children during classroom, outdoor, and field trip activities.
Assist with homework support.
Promote positive behavior.
Maintain classroom organization and safety.
Follow OCFS requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience working with children preferred.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it.
Background check and OCFS clearances are required.

Facilities & Grounds Technician

Part-Time Facilities Wage Based on Experience

The Facilities & Grounds Technician helps ensure The Center’s campus remains safe, clean, welcoming, and well maintained for children, families, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
Maintain grounds and landscaping.
Set up rooms for programs and events.
Assist with painting, carpentry, plumbing, and equipment moves.
Support community events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in maintenance or landscaping preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
