Programs

Our After-School children have benefitted greatly from the partnership with SOFO and the STEAM Enrichment programming. Students explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math thru visits to the museum, outdoor guided nature walks and hands-on workshops at The Center, SOFO, and Innovation Camp (iCAMP).
STEAM enrichment workshops focus on project-based learning. We connect nature observations to the technology tools used to make observations, so that the students better understand the world around them.
Steve Phillips, Curriculum Director at iCAMP and STEAM enrichment program instructor, and Melanie Meade, Education and Outreach Coordinator at SOFO, developed the curriculum together so that it reflects the use of technology in understanding the natural world. The program is supported by a grant to SOFO from an anonymous donor.
