Programs

Our D.R.E.A.M. (Dedication, Responsibility, Education, Attitude, Motivation) program provides teens with a safe space to harness confidence, leadership and increased social awareness. Teens can seek educational and emotional support from our on-site educators and counselors while engaging in project-based activities and community service initiatives in preparation for successful adulthood.
The D.R.E.A.M. teens meet several times a month, working closely with peers and adult mentors in an interactive and social space, offering discussion groups, spoken word, game nights, art classes, and exciting trips & educational outings.

College Prep Program

This program includes SAT/ACT Prep classes, all practice tests, PSAT learning sessions, seminars on college admissions and the art of college essay writing. This is a five-year college prep program. Beginning in the 9th grade and following students through freshman year of college. The heart of the program is based on individual One on One guidance and financial counseling for teens and their families with an assigned College Coach. Most of
our students are the first in their families to attend college.

Current Community- Based Projects

The D.R.E.A.M. Teens are excited to embark on the Inter-generational gardening Initiative. This work is an act of uniting our community seniors with our younger generations; to learn gardening skills, life skills, and cultural traditions. Intergenerational gardening has many beneficial factors, including:

An increased interest in gardening in younger generations

The relationship development between elders and youth; counteracting negative stereotypes

Increase in physical mobility in elderly participants

A safe space for sharing and learning

An exploration of life skills such as accountability, responsibility, and patience

Participants will have an opportunity to grow fresh vegetables and herbs in their very own customized gardening spaces. Teens will work alongside seniors weekly from planting to harvesting, making for a fortified common-ground activity and vast space for learning!

The Center is a lifeline for working families and a net for the surrounding community providing a wide variety of programs and services. We are a service facility, and we service the community. We want our children to become good citizens and to support our families.
